Nonwoven Geotextile

Needle-punched nonwoven geotextile for filtration, drainage, separation and protection of geomembranes.

Overview

Needle-punched nonwoven geotextile is a thick, felt-like fabric of polypropylene staple fibres bonded mechanically. It filters fine soil from flowing water, carries water in its own plane and cushions geomembranes against stones and uneven subgrade. It is a common choice behind retaining walls, around drains, under riprap and above or below landfill and pond liners. Weights from 150 to 500 g/m² cover light separation duty through to heavy protection.

Features

  • Filters soil while letting water pass freely
  • High permeability and some flow within the fabric plane
  • Cushions geomembranes against puncture damage
  • High elongation, so it follows uneven ground
  • Rot-proof and resistant to soil chemicals
  • Available from 150 to 500 g/m²
