Geotextile Dewatering Tube

Large woven polypropylene tubes filled with slurry to dewater sludge, or with sand to build breakwaters and shoreline protection.

Overview

A geotextile tube is a large sleeve sewn from high-strength woven polypropylene. Pumped full of sludge or dredged slurry, it holds the solids while clean water drains out through the fabric, cutting the volume to be hauled away. Filled with sand, it becomes a heavy, flexible unit for revetments, breakwaters, groynes and land reclamation. Tubes are made to order from 5 to 20 m in circumference and 20 to 100 m long.

Features

  • Holds back fine solids while water drains out
  • Dewaters municipal and industrial sludge, mine tailings and dredged material
  • Sand-filled tubes for revetments and breakwaters
  • High-strength woven fabric and seams
  • Black or sand colour
  • Made to order in length and circumference
